Headstone Limited Warranty

Luminella Memorials (“we,” “us,” or “our”) warrants that all memorials, headstones, monuments, and markers we manufacture and install are free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal conditions of use.

Granite & Stone Materials

We warrant the granite or stone against structural defects, including cracking, splitting, or material failure resulting from defects in the stone itself that would render it unusable for memorial purposes.

Craftsmanship & Installation

We warrant our workmanship and installation against defects for a period of 20 years from the date of installation. This warranty covers issues directly caused by improper setting, foundation, or assembly performed by us.

Lettering & Engraving

We warrant that all lettering and engraving will be completed as approved in the final proof. Minor variations in depth, spacing, or appearance are inherent to hand and machine engraving and do not constitute defects.

Engraving on Existing Memorials

For engravings performed on existing memorials not originally manufactured by us, we will make reasonable efforts to match the existing stone’s lettering style, size, depth, and appearance. Exact matching cannot be guaranteed due to differences in stone age, finish, weathering, original workmanship, tooling methods, and material composition. Variations resulting from these factors do not constitute defects and are not subject to warranty remedy. All other terms, limitations, exclusions, and conditions of this Headstone Limited Warranty apply fully to engraving services.

Exclusions

This warranty does not cover:

  • Normal weathering, aging, or patina development

  • Natural characteristics such as color variation, veining, inclusions, or minor surface changes as these are inherent to stone and are not considered defects

  • Damage caused by ground movement, settling, frost, flooding, tree roots, or acts of nature

  • Damage caused by cemetery equipment, maintenance, vandalism, or third parties

  • Stains, biological growth, or discoloration caused by environmental conditions

  • Cleaning, maintenance, or repairs performed by anyone other than us

  • Bronze oxidation, patina changes, or surface wear

  • Resetting or leveling due to cemetery or soil conditions beyond our control

  • Any change in appearance, fading, discoloration, peeling, weathering, deterioration, or loss of lithochrome or applied color is not considered a defect in materials or workmanship

  • Any services, materials, or foundations provided or installed by third parties, including cemetery foundations, resets, or repairs not performed by us, are not subject to warranty remedy

Remedy

If a covered defect is confirmed within the warranty period, we will, at our discretion, repair or replace the defective portion of the memorial. This shall be the sole and exclusive remedy under this warranty. Labor, removal, reinstallation, cemetery fees, or related costs may apply unless otherwise stated.

Limitation of Liability

This warranty is limited to the original purchaser and their heirs and is not transferable. To the fullest extent permitted by Pennsylvania law, in no event shall we be liable for incidental or consequential damages. This warranty is limited to repair or replacement only. While we are committed to working with our customers to address any concerns, no refunds, reimbursements, credits, or monetary compensation are available under this warranty.

Warranty Claims

All warranty claims must be submitted in writing and include proof of purchase and photographs of the issue. Claims must be reported within a reasonable time after the defect is discovered. Any inspection, repair, or replacement performed under this warranty does not extend, renew, or restart the original warranty period. The warranty coverage remains in effect only for the remainder of the original warranty term, measured from the original date of installation.
